Philip Oxhorn

Dr Philip Oxhorn (PhD, Harvard University) is a retired Professor of Political Science from McGill University and an internationally recognized scholar of civil society and citizenship, with a particular focus on Latin America. His research looks at the challenges of improving the legitimacy of political democracies through socially inclusive reforms. This culminated his book, Sustaining Civil Society: Economic Change, Democracy and the Social Construction of Citizenship in Latin America (Penn State, Press, 2011).
